The sun'll come out... Tomorrow...

Hello all. Or just you, that one reader that may or may not see this. Anyway - it has been sometime since I've posted on here. A lot has happened lately. In late April, though I did not mention it in my last blog, I was in a car accident that totaled my beloved car. Luckily, I got one exactly like it to replace it, but it was still a rough situation. About a month later, Sean totaled his car - and it was the car he's had since his mom bought it for him brand new back in 2005. It was his prized possession. That was pretty tough. Then, this past Monday - we had to put Sean's dog (and for the past 4 years or so, my dog) - to sleep. He was old and had developed cancer and was in the end of his days and in a lot of pain. It was probably one of the most horrible experiences I have ever had the extreme displeasure of experiencing. Heartbreaking and soul shattering may sound over the top for the death of a pet - but that is the best way to describe it. Not only the death of the pet, but seeing Sean - who had this dog, his one and only dog, for the past 13 years - say good-bye to his best friend. Sean had Mac since he was just a little puppy. As an only child, Mac was the closest thing Sean had to brother growing up. And watching Sean suffer through that whole experience was by far one of the most painful things I've felt. So, starting this weekend - we are all about new beginnings. I have a new car, Sean has a new (well actually - old, vintage) car, and on Saturday morning we are picking up an eight-week old puppy. Three months from tomorrow, Sean and I will be getting married and starting our life as a newly-married couple. As of this morning, I have lost 31 pounds - a weight I haven't been at since sometime in early 2008. Things are looking up.

I took the photo attached to this blog while laying in bed the morning after we said good-bye to Mac. As I laid there - not being able to sleep because the sun was bright as all get out and shining directly in my face - the song "Tomorrow" from Annie started playing in my head. In case you didn't know - I played Annie in our middle school's production of Annie back in the day. I haven't been a huge fan of the songs ever since then since I had to sing them all so much repeatedly for so long while rehearsing for the musical and the songs literally NEVER leave your head - but in this situation - I was okay with the song being in my head. It's been a tough couple months - that's for sure. But I just have to keep reminding myself that things WILL get better - everything WILL work out in the end - the sun WILL come out tomorrow... And all those other cliche encouraging quotes. Hopefully the next time you'll hear from me it will be nothing but really great news! : )
